Peyton's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser

Nov 04, 2023

I wanted to share with you why I am so passionate about this program and LLS’s mission.  I got involved with this campaign because I want to hopefully make a difference, especially for kids, so they can be given the best chance to live out their hopes and dreams. Cancer does not discriminate, and affects people of all ages, color, and at any time in one’s life. As a dancer and a swimmer, I feel fortunate to be able to pursue what I love to do and be healthy. This organization  has really touched me, as they fund research for other types of cancer as well. Breast cancer is one that has affected my family, and knowing that it is funded motivated me on a personal level. My grandmother and three of my aunts passed away from breast cancer, never giving me a chance to meet them. I recently found out my grandfather was diagnosed with cancer. My heart is saddened after finding out this news. Knowing that I am helping the research of other types of cancer, along with blood cancer, really sparked me to do this and help make a change with my campaign.

I have set a goal of raising $100,000 in just 7 weeks with the hopes to help cure blood cancer and all cancers!

Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

  • Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
  • Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
  • Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!

Peyton, thank you for doing this fundraiser. This is something that is near and dear to my heart as my mother died from leukemia in 2010. She battled it for 13 years. I miss her every day. I hope more and more funds will be given to research this cancer and all cancers in the hopes that no one ever loses a loved one to cancer again.
